What are Hypertherm Plasma Parts?
Hypertherm plasma parts are replacement consumable parts for torches on Hypertherm plasma cutting machines. The most commonly used Hypertherm consumable torch parts are:
- Electrode: Provides power to the plasma arc and acts as the main conductor of the voltage (generated by the machine or power source), from the torch cable and torch head, to the workpiece.
- Swirl Ring: Directs and swirls the plasma gas around the electrode and into the nozzle. Also insulates the nozzle from the electrode.
- Nozzle: Also known as tips, directs and focuses the plasma gas into a narrow jet, through the hole in the nozzle.
- Retaining Cap: Holds the electrode, swirl ring and nozzle in their correct, exact position.
- Shield: Protects all other parts from sparks and molten metal spray
- SYNC Cartridge: New technology available only on Hypertherm SYNC series machines and/or torches. SYNC Cartridges include all of the above parts assembled together in a single cartridge which is replaced as a complete unit.
When to replace Hypertherm plasma consumables
